Washington, DC--The Nation’s Capital--known for politics, Cherry Blossoms, traffic jams and sweet potato cake. It is also the birth place of Sudden M Pac Band, a group of seasoned music professionals who together make up decades of musical experience. They all share one thing in common—keeping classic soul and R&B alive.
Sudden M Pac Band is an all R&B and Soul band who are steadily winning fans and devotees wherever they seem to play. While each member of the group has a success story in their own right, it’s the collaborative effort that fills their performance with great musicianship; rich-sultry vocals and high energy that fans have come to love.
Lead vocalists includes, André Jackson, Shelton Price, and Steve Alston all talented vocalists who contributes to the sound and feel of the group. In fact, fans look forward to André lending his potent baritone vocals to a Teddy Pendergrass song. His rendition of classic tunes once performed by the O’Jays or TP definitely has the female fans swooning as he adds a bit of romance in the air. When André is not performing with SMP he can be found on a global stage with former lead singer of the Temptations, Glenn Leonard and his Temptations Revue.
Shelton wasted no time making an impression on the fans. Anyone who knows Shelton can account for his passion for performance, showmanship and live entertainment every time he hits the stage. Known for winning over a crowd with his sultry, smooth vocals and getting the party started with Frankie Beverly and Maze’s “Before I Let Go” or “Got to Give It Up” by Marvin Gaye fans can’t help but to get out of their seats.
Steve, has graced the stage as a member of the Dynamic Superiors, and more recently, performed with Special Delivery, singing their classic song, "I Destroyed Your Love". Steve has stepped in and shown his worth to Sudden M Pac by adding his skills as a legitimate tenor. You can lose yourself is the pure rich tone of his voice as he sings songs from the Temptations, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Eric Benet to name a few. Ladies, stand back because this guy can "SANG".
Sudden M Pac Band members include, Michael “Skeeter” Hines (Drummer), he holds a reputation amongst his peers for ‘keeping it in the pocket.’ While fans cannot turn a blinds eye to the wicked bass lines held by, Chris Phelps. Not many R&B bands can boost about unconventional instrumentation but SMP can when they talk about the multi-talented "Uncle Mike" Michael Hicks who plays lead guitar. If you're looking for melody, we have the best at giving you just that . SMP has the honor of having DC's greatest Keyboard Player Jeno Meyers (Notably the keyboard player for the Stylistics, Heatwave, Jean Carne and many many more!)
